KIEV-Ukrainian Chief executive Volodymyr Zelensky and 2 top presidential and federal government officials have tested good for the coronavirus, presidential plus government offices said upon Monday.
“The head of state is definitely feeling well and will carry on and perform his duties distantly in self-isolation, ” Zelensky’s office said in a declaration.
“Despite all of the quarantine measures, I also obtained a + (positive) outcome. I have 37. 5, and am wish everyone 36. six! ” Zelenskiy said within a Telegram message, referring to their body temperature.
Zelenskiys wife, Olena, contracted COVID-19 in June plus spent several weeks in a medical center.
Minutes right after Zelensky’s announcement, Andriy Yermak, head of the presidential workplace, said on Facebook which he had also tested optimistic for the virus.
Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko has been diagnosed with COVID-19 too and will work remotely, their ministry said.
On Thursday, Marchenko, Primary Minister Denys Shmygal, as well as other ministers took part inside a parliamentary session. Shmygal’s workplace said he had no indications of the infection but would go through a test on Tuesday.
The daily tally of coronavirus infections within Ukraine spiked at the end of September and remained regularly high throughout October plus early November, prompting the federal government to extend lockdown measures till the end of this year.
Shmygal said a week ago the number of new cases can jump to 15, 1000 a day by the end of Nov and to 20, 000 every day by the end of the year.
