Bear is an adorable 3-year-old pup who was found by Detroit Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) about 2.5 years ago. He was a 7-month old stray and was in terrible condition when he was found. At the shelter, he regained his health back and grew up to become a healthy dog. The problem is that no one ever adopted Bear since he came to the shelter which is a difficult thing for the staff to fathom. Bear is a sweet dog but takes time to gel with other dogs, but other than that he is a great pup.

Overtime, Bear has turned into an even more shy and depressed dog. Lots of people come and interact with him but no one wants to take him home and no one knows why

“He was about 7 months old and very emaciated,” the director of DAWG, told The Dodo. “He stayed in foster care for a while, but then the foster had family who moved in, and they couldn’t keep him anymore.”

After zero success, the staff decided to share Bear’s story on social media to increase his chances at finding a forever home. “It went viral because it was a very sad picture… He is depressed in the kennel, as most dogs get, especially after two years of being in a kennel… Mostly he just lays on his bed with his head down.”

Bear wants nothing more than a loving home. Please help him find a forever home this year. Share his story.
