Last week, Sweet Home Alabama actress Reese Witherspoon visited Stanford University and made a surprise stop in her old dorm room. The 41-year-old star was super excited to see her old room and posed for a photo with the room’s current resident Caitlyn. Witherspoon shared the photo on Instagram and captioned it: “Surprise! While re-visiting @Stanford, I popped by my old dorm room…. and met its newest tenant, Caitlyn! She was so nice; she even welcomed me in!”

Witherspoon, who studied English Literature, decided to put her education on hold to pursue acting career in 1996. She was visiting Stanford for a meeting as she is a speaker for an event for the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The current dorm room students were more excited than Witherspoon as they didn’t expect to ever see her gallivanting the hallway. “I turned toward the door and all I see is Reese Witherspoon peeking in,” Caitlyn told Inside Edition. “She was like, ‘Can we come in?’ My jaw dropped.”

Shortly after the event, Witherspoon shared a snapshot on Instagram and captioned it:

“Thank you @stanfordbusiness for having me yesterday. It was a honor to share my experiences and chat with all of you bright minds. Keep studying hard and dreaming big!”
