Matthew McConaughey endured his share associated with traumatic moments before he or she became a Hollywood celebrity. And now he’s sharing each last detail!

In his explosive new memoir, Greenlights , the 50-year-old opened up regarding some of his unsettling encounters with sex early in life, such as the time he was “blackmailed” into losing his virginity when he was a teenager. The Oscar winner had written:

“I was blackmailed into making love for the first time when I was fifteen. I was certain I was likely to hell for the premarital sexual intercourse. Today, I am merely sure that I hope that’s not the case. ”

OMG, what?! Blackmailed?!

What was the story generally there? Is he waiting for the sequel memoir or some thing??

The Dallas Buyers Membership star uncovered another horrific incident through just three years later in which he was molested by one more man. Explaining that he had been “knocked unconscious” by their assailant, the actor published:

“ molested by a man when I had been 18 while knocked subconscious in the back of a van. ”

McConaughey didn’t give more details regarding either incident, but this individual made it clear that he is never felt like a target, adding:

“I have a lot of evidence that the world is conspiring to make me happy. ”

On a lighter note, McConaughey also spilled some herbal tea about his showbiz profession, revealing that he once rejected a HUGE paycheck in an effort to revolves from romantic comedies straight into more dramatic acting tasks.

Referencing their rom-com heyday in the earlier 2000s — which included featuring roles in The Wedding Planner , How to Lose a Guy within 10 Days , Failure to Launch , and Fool’s Gold — the actor explained:

“The passionate comedies remained my just consistent box office strikes, which made them the only consistent incoming provides. For me personally, I appreciated being able to give people the ninety-minute breezy romantic escape from the stress of their life where they didn’t need to think about anything, just view the boy chase the lady, fall down, then get up and lastly get her. I had used the baton from Hugh Grant , and I ran with it. ”

Even though he admittedly “enjoyed producing romantic comedies, and their own paychecks rented the homes on the beach I happened to run shirtless on, ” the particular star was ready for a big change. Matthew explained that this year, he was offered the $14. 5 million salary to star in another rom-com — but this individual turned it down!

This individual elaborated:

“I declined the provide. If I couldn’t do the things i wanted, I wasn’t likely to do what I didn’t, regardless of the price. ”

It turned out to be an excellent decision: McConaughey took upon more dramatic roles with the early 2010’s, like The Lincoln Attorney , Monster Joe , Mud plus, of course , a starring part as AIDS patient Ron Woodroof in the 2013 biographical drama Based in dallas Buyers Club , which usually earned him an School Award for Best Actor.

Who knew how the first act of McConaughey’s life was just as spectacular as his future movies though? We’re glad all those early encounters didn’t harm the guy’s life, due to the fact many victims of intimate assault can’t shake this off so willingly!
