But Fallon’ s buddy and fellow comedian Jamie Foxx has come to his protection and is being applauded.

Video footage of a 2000 SNL skit of Fallon in blackface acting as Chris Stone resurfaced online. In the skit, Fallon’ s skin is definitely multiple shades darker and talks in an accent endeavoring to mirror Rock’ s. The particular skit involves Fallon since Rock in an interview along with Regis Philbin complaining there are not enough Black contestants around the game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Fans flocked to social media to express their own outrage but it’ h not the first time Fallon continues to be called out for this particular skit. Nick Cannon spoke associated with his disgust with Fallon and others who’ ve carried out in blackface on his Instagram account in February 2019.

Fallon apologized in a twitter update, writing, “ In 2k, while on SNL, I produced a terrible decision to do a good impersonation of Chris Rock and roll while in blackface. While many had been quick to jump on panel to cancel Fallon, Foxx saw things differently. Right after E! News posted a tale about Fallon in blackface to their Instagram account, Foxx responded and disputed the concept Fallon was making a mockery of Black culture in any way.

“ He was carrying out an impression of Chris Rock and roll. It wasn’ t blackface. We comedians I know it’ s a tough time right now. Yet this one is a stretch, ” Foxx wrote.

“ On a show known as ‘ In Living Color’ we played every competition. Let this one go. We all got bigger fish in order to fry, ” he published, hinting to the recent information of unarmed Black males being killed by law enforcement as being an example of bigger ethnic issues to focus on.

Author Eric Metexas replied on Twitter to Foxx coming to Fallon’ s protection, considering Foxx’ s open public statement honorable.
