Halsey is usually calling out the Recording Academy over their Grammy nominations — and she’s not especially happy about being snubbed this year!
Obviously this open message comes after The Weeknd , who criticized the Grammys earlier this week after he, too, has been snubbed from receiving a candidate selection. But do these musicians have a point, or could it be all sour grapes?!
The 26-year-old place star released her brand new album Manic this year to a lot fanfare, but when it arrived time to post up selections for Grammys, she has been nowhere to be found. And even though the lady was quiet about it for a number of days, the pop little princess is now speaking up regarding where she thinks elements went wrong, and she’s not holding back in any way!
In a brand new message posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday, the Be Kind singer went within on the Recording Academy plus suggested what we all basically know — that it is a super-dirty world serious down in the inner-workings from the music industry.
Halsey wrote (below):
“I’ve already been thinking and wanted to select my words carefully just because a lot of people have extended compassion and apology to me because the Grammy nominations. The Grammys are an elusive process. It could often be about concealed from the public view private performances, knowing the correct people, campaigning through the grapevine, with just the right handshakes plus ‘bribes’ that can be just focused enough to pass as ‘not-bribes. ’ And if you get that will far, it’s about investing exclusive TV performances plus making sure you help the particular Academy make their hundreds of thousands in advertising on the nights the show. Perhaps it is sometimes (!! ) but it isn’t really always about the music or even quality or culture. Simply wanted to get that away from my chest. @theweeknd warrants better, and Manic do too. perhaps its unbecoming of me to say therefore but I can’t treatment anymore. While I am DELIGHTED for my talented close friends who were recognized this year, I’m hoping for more transparency or change. But I’m sure this awesome article will blacklist me in any case. ”
Discuss being real about the chance of a blacklist from this, as well — though we’ll certainly see how that plays out there in the years to come…
