It’s hard to imagine that we live in a world where people who need a little push or help are forced to take the backseat just because they are a little different. Even if they don’t realize it, some people around make them feel that they are different. While most kids are easily affected by bullies and negativity, Phoebe from Australia made the negative comments a motivation to be better everyday. At a very young age, Phoebe was diagnosed with Dyslexia (a reading disorder), Dyscalculia (a difficulty in understanding numbers), dysgraphia (a deficiency in the ability to write), and ADHD (problems paying attention). Rather than helping the kid, everyone, including teachers and a few parents publicly shamed her.
“Unfortunately I was bullied relentlessly for years,” Phoebe writes. “I just try use it as motivation.”
“Sadly, due to the harassment at school, I was too nervous to ever put people on blast or stand up for myself.”
Phoebe didn’t say anything to anyone and kept preparing to show what she is capable of doing. And sure enough, today, the young girl has proved that being different is a gift and they are surely more tough than others. Read Phoebe’s post below.
