Recently, a body builder and graphic designer from Italy proposed to his boyfriend on a surprise romantic getaway and the internet can’t handle all the cuteness. Jimmy Sjödin, a former Olympic diver from Sweden always wished to go to Venice, Italy. Patrick Huber, his loving boyfriend planned his dream vacation and the two set off on the most memorable trip of their lives. Sjödin had no idea where they were headed as Huber told him to pack his bags for his dream trip. On July 28, during a gondola ride through the canals, Huber got down on one knee and popped the question. The clever boyfriend had hired a photographer that had been following the couple to capture candid shots of the romantic moment.
“I had no idea or clue that this could or would be an engagement trip,” Sjödin said. “All I can recall was something about wanting to always be there for me, to protect me and be my family and wanting to be my ‘forever boyfriend.'”
“It turns out she was a professional photographer that Patrick had hired,” he said. “She was taking photos but I still thought she was a tour guide.”
Patrick and Jimmy met online on Facebook but only started dating two years ago.
“I honestly knew from before we even met that this guy could be the one,” Patrick said. “Meeting that first time and spending time together laughing, touching, and feeling each other’s energy, I think we both were sold.”
The couple plans to get hitched on May 28 at the German Alps.
“It will be a very small, discreet, relaxed and low-key weekend of events,” Jimmy said.
