According to experts, Avocados are high in good fat and low in carb which is why it can be good in curing epilepsy as they believe that the process of burning carbs can trigger epileptic seizures.
The Lius from Loughborough, Leicestershire, put Leafy on a diet of 2 avocados a day and so far the little girl has consumed 3,000 avocados in the last four years. And the seizures? They have reduced to 4 seizures a year.
Leafy’s father, Justin said, “Where once she would have 60 minor seizures a day, it dropped dramatically to the extent that they are now very rare. Before we started it, she would have two major attacks a week – but quickly that became one a month.”
“We’re now at the point where she only has four seizures a year, it’s a miracle.”
Claire and Justin struggled for a long time and Leafy’s seizures got really bad at one point.
“When she was having one, she would stop responding or looking at me,” said Claire. “Her face would fix in one direction, and she’d start to shake. We both hoped that she would grow out of it, and it’s not too uncommon for babies to have seizures.”
But now that she is on a avocado diet, all’s well. “Almost as soon as she started on the diet, she felt fit, happy, healthier, more relaxed, everything you’d want for your little girl,” said Justin. “We’re just so thankful that we discovered the diet when we did, because it’s changed all of our lives for the better.”
