A 5-year-old boy walked two blocks at 5 in the morning in desperate need of help to save both his parents after they overdosed on drugs. The little boy saw his mother and father collapsed on the floor early morning. He tried to wake them up but they wouldn’t wake up, so the 5-year-old walked two blocks in the dark all alone and knocked on his grandparents’ house. “Mom and dad’s dead, mom and dad’s dead!” the boy cried according to his grandfather Kenny Currey recalled.
Currey ran back to the house and was horrified to see his stepdaughter Chelsie Marshall and her partner Lee Johnson overdosed on heroin. The cops arrived shortly and found the boy’s mother and father unconscious with his 3-month-old sister in a car seat crying.
“This 5-year-old child, a hero, saved 3 lives today. How can something so awesome be so sad all at the same time?” the police department shared the heartbreaking message on Facebook. “They are supposed to be her guardians and never let anything bad happen to her.”
The parents were revived with multiple doses of Narcan, a medication used to reverse the effects of heroin and other dangerous drugs, after which they were both taken to jail.
The courageous boy received a badge of bravery by the police department. WCPO reported that the children are under the care of their grandmother.
