Actors, models and other Hollywood celebrities are often thought as just being a pretty face. We tend to want to think that they must not have much going on upstairs if they look that good. These are the kind of things we tell ourselves because we don’t want to admit just how much better they may have it. The fact of the matter is that there are plenty of celebrities who were blessed with brains and beauty. Here are just a few of those people who really did win the genetic lottery more than once.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman is arguably one of the hottest actresses of her time but she’s also one of the smartest. Portman speaks six languages and graduated from Harvard. The Ivy League alum also spent some time studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, apparently just to add to her education.

It’s always impressive to see that level of education from someone who doesn’t need it in order to succeed in their chosen field.

Cindy Crawford

Long known as the top super model of her generation, you may not have known that Cindy Crawford was also one of the smartest super models of her generation. Crawford was the valedictorian of her high school class and received a chemical engineering scholarship to Northwestern.

Crawford ended up leaving school to pursue her modeling career but we’re confident she would have qualified as the hottest chemical engineer of her generation if she’d decided to go that route.

James Franco

James Franco is largely known as a handsome but weird guy. It turns out he’s also quite intelligent. In fact, Franco has piled up college degrees at a ridiculous rate.

Franco graduated from UCLA then got a filmmaking degree from NYU, a fictional writing degree from Columbia University and just to make sure he gets more than one Ivy League college on his resume, he’s currently a comparative literature PhD candidate at Yale.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon isn’t just one of the hunkiest actors around. He’s also someone who came up with the script for the Oscar winning Good Will Hunting during his studies at Harvard. How do you like them apples?

Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone might have made her name by showing off a certain part of her body rarely seen in Hollywood blockbusters, but she’s also a genius. Stone is reported to have an IQ of 154 and received a college scholarship at the age of 15.

Lisa Kudrow

Before she got into acting, Lisa Kudrow was on the path to becoming a world renowned headache specialist. Kudrow graduated from Vassar with a degree in biology and partnered with her father, who was already a world renowned headache specialist, on a new study. Before the paper could be published, she landed a gig on Friends and the rest is history.

John Krasinski

John Krasinski is just another on this list of Hollywood celebs who also attended an Ivy League school. Before becoming well known as “Jim” on The Office, the actor attended classes at Brown and, before that, taught English in Costa Rica.

Rashida Jones

Another Office alum, Rashida Jones is also known for being the daughter of Quincy Jones. In the academic world, she’s known as someone who graduated from Harvard with a degree in comparative religion.

Ken Jeong

Ken Jeong became a household as an actor with his roles in The Hangover and Community. Turns out acting is actually his second career. The actor first became a licensed doctor, studying at Duke and UNC before finishing his residency in New Orleans.

His first major role was actually as a doctor in Knocked Up.

Kate Beckinsale

Kate Beckinsale attended Oxford University before she hit it big as an actress. The Brit obviously has a keen understanding of English, but she can also speak Russian, French and German fluently.

Jodie Foster

Jodie Foster is yet another member of this list who attended Yale where she studied as a French scholar. Foster got into the acting game at an early age, but actually set it aside so she could attend the prestigous school and then resumed her career.

David Duchovny

While it might seem almost blase at this point to mention that someone on this list attended an Ivy League school, the X-Files alum actually attained degrees from two of them.

The Californication star received his bachelor’s in English Literature from Princeton and his Master’s from Yale. The actor was going for his doctorate in the subject but landed a beer commercial and turned to acting.

Asia Carrera

Asia Carrera made her name shooting over 250 adult films. Before she got into the porn business, she was a piano prodigy who played Carnegie hall at age 13. The former actress boasts a genius level IQ of 156.
